General information

In accordance with the Veterinary Surgeon’s Act 1966 and exemptions order 2015. Any physiotherapy assessment and/or treatment of your animal may be discussed with your veterinary surgeon if required, where necessary a patient may refered back to their veterinary surgeon for further investigation if deemed necessary at any stage.

The Veterinary Surgeons Act states that a veterinary surgeon must refer or give permission for an animal to receive treatment by a veterinary physiotherapist. However, there are exceptions for clinically healthy animals but this will be discussed on a case-by-case basis. Failure to provide this by the time of treatment will result in the appointment being rearranged.

Padfoot Veterinary Physiotherapy reserves the right to refuse treatment if it is deemed to be either inappropriate or unsafe ie lameness, illness or behavioural concerns.

Where possible, always let us know in advance if there are any changes to the health of any patient due to be seen between the time of booking and their appointment,

All horses need to be dry and brushed clean with visible mud removed in order for effective assessment and treatment to take place.
Insurance

If insurance is in place, it may be possible to claim any fees incurred via your insurance poilcy. It is the clients responsibility to check the policy prior to booking an appointment. Physiotherapy is often covered under complimentary therapy or part of the yearly limit.

If you are unsure, please always ask. Where the physiotherapist is required to submit insurance claims on the clients behalf a small fee or £10 will be incurred.
Cancellation policy

Cancellations or postponement of an appointment within 48hrs of the session will incur 50% of the session fee.

Cancellations within 24hrs of the appointment will incur 100% of the session fee.

For all long distance appointments (>50miles) the cancellation fee differs, within 48hrs incurs 100%, 72hrs 50% of the session fee.

Where multiple cancellations or amendments are made to a session, we reserve the right to request payment 48hrs prior to the session date.

We understand unforseen circumstances occur, please notify us as soon as possible.
Payment

Payment is due on the day of the appointment, an invoice is generated at the time. This should be paid via BACS or cash.

Payments made after 7 days of the appointment will incur a late payment fee of 5% of the appointment fee for every week the invoice is outstanding.

Where repeated late payment occurs payment will be required 48hrs prior to the appointment.

If difficulties arise, please contact us to discuss repayment plans.
GDPR
-
Personal data is stored in accordance with GDPR laws. No personal data is shared with any third parties. The only information shared will be with insurance companies, para professionals & veterinary clinics as per the VSA with clients full consent.

Data is stored on the Equigate app which clients can dowload to see all information stored.
