Welcome to Padfoot Veterinary Physiotherapy
Padfoot Veterinary Physiotherapy is run by Lucy who has over ten years’ experience in the veterinary industry. Starting in mixed practice initially she went on to qualify as a Registered veterinary nurse in December 2013. In this time, she has worked in various multi-disciplinary referral practices specialising in orthopaedic and neurology patient care and surgical nursing before going back to her original passion of ICU nursing at one of the top universities in Scotland.
Lucy has been riding and working with horses from a young age, in 2016 she took a few months off nursing and helped manage a trekking centre in East Lothian as she missed working with horses. This inspired her to find a career path which would combine her love of the outdoors, horses and small animal veterinary care.
Qualifying from Nottingham University with a PG advanced Diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy in June 2019. Lucy is a qualified recover certified rescuer for small animal patients and is undertaking her Vets Now Emergency and critical care certificate alongside her MSc in Veterinary Physiotherapy in the coming year to expand her knowledge.
Lucy has also achieved her certificate in canine hydrotherapy, is a fear free professional and a veterinary osteoarthritis accredited professional.
Her love of animals began at a very young age, throughout the years she has rescued a variety of animals from working in practice and for charities but her main love has always been Border collies, Greyhounds and Thoroughbreds. Currently, she has multiple Border collies and a terrapin this could well change as Lucy is volunteering her expertise to multiple charities to include a local riding school.
