Welcome to Padfoot Veterinary Physiotherapy
Padfoot Veterinary Physiotherapy is run by Lucy who has over ten years’ experience in the veterinary industry. Starting in mixed practice initially she went on to qualify as a Registered veterinary nurse in December 2013. In this time, she has worked in various multi-disciplinary referral practices specialising in orthopaedic and neurology patient care and surgical nursing before going back to her original passion of ICU nursing at one of the top universities in Scotland.
Lucy has been riding and working with horses from a young age, in 2016 she took a few months off nursing and helped manage a trekking centre in East Lothian as she missed working with horses. This inspired her to find a career path which would combine her love of the outdoors, horses and small animal veterinary care.
Qualifying from Nottingham University with a PG advanced Diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy in June 2019 and went on to gain her Masters degree in Veterinary physiotherapy in 2021. Lucy is a qualified recover certified rescuer for small animal patients, a fear free professional as well as a Veterinary osteoarthritis alliance professional.
Lucy has also achieved her certificate in canine hydrotherapy along with her Vets Now certificate in Emergency and critical care.
Her love of animals began at a very young age, throughout the years she has rescued a variety of animals from working in practice and for charities but her main love has always been Border collies, Greyhounds and Thoroughbreds. Currently, she has multiple Border collies among others. Lucy also volunteers her services to charities.
